Investment Fund Development
The mandate of MEDA's Investment Fund Development (IFD) department is to establish private investment as an effective solution to global poverty. We create the investment instruments to assemble such capital; we create the investment vehicles to channel that capital to developing economies, and we manage that capital for the mutual benefit of the investor and the poor.

Furthermore, the IFD department will do our investment work by:
- Intermediating private placements from private investors directly into companies
- Creating asset management companies and investment funds
- Promoting the international development investment industry
MEDA as an organization works actively in international development investment, which includes microfinance, but also various other small and medium-sized enterprise investment sectors that benefit poor communities. Examples of our current involvement in SME-related projects include investments in starch and ethanol plants in Paraguay.
