Update on Timing

Tanzania National Voucher Scheme, Under Five Catch up Campaign

The project goal is to cover 80% of all children under five with a Long Lasting Insecticidal Net to reduce the incidence of malaria in Tanzania among infants and small children.  

Position – Impact Assessment Intern

This internship will be best suited for someone with a graduate degree in economics, international development, journalism or communication studies. Knowledge of development concepts and principles, as well as experience conducting qualitative research is important. Proficiency in a local language of the project site would be a great asset. Preference will be given to applicants with strong writing and audio/video production skills.

The primary objective will be to research, catalogue and report on the livelihood and quality of life impacts for the project’s clients in coordination with the project’s M&E Officer.  
Key tasks:

  • Expand project client impact databases finding and reporting on new impact examples
  • Using a variety of methodologies including key informant interviews, document research, report analysis and field site research, conduct analysis into the impact that project programming is having for clients
  • Record and report on such ‘client stories’ using a variety of media including print, audio and video

Length of Assignment
The length of the work assignment in country is six months. Interns will participate in a one week orientation and training in Waterloo, Ontario and be required to debrief and report back to MEDA staff in Waterloo upon return to Canada. The debriefing will include exercises aimed to facilitate successful re-entry to Canada and ongoing job search training and support.
