Update on Timing

Ukraine Horticulture Development

The project goal is to enable Ukrainian individuals, organizations, public and private institutions to sustainably support and promote a thriving, equitable horticulture subsector with full participation of smallholder farmers including women, men and marginalized communities.

Position – Value Chain Development Intern


This internship will be best suited for someone with a BBA or MBA with an interest/focus in agriculture. Russian and/or Ukrainian language skills would be an asset.

The primary objective is to identify one or two new value chain development opportunities. Key tasks include:

  • scanning, mapping, assessment, and apply MEDA’s business modeling and Value Chain Development design templates;
  • set VCD goals, objectives, performance measurement framework (PMF);
  • define initial VCD  implementation work plans;
  • support initial VCD implementation work.  

Length of Assignment
The length of the work assignment in country is six months. Interns will participate in a one week orientation and training in Waterloo, Ontario and be required to debrief and report back to MEDA staff in Waterloo upon return to Canada. The debriefing will include exercises aimed to facilitate successful re-entry to Canada and ongoing job search training and support.
