About Elaine and Miriam

Elaine ShantzElaine - peopleCare

Elaine Shantz is President and Chief Operating Officer for peopleCare Communities. Elaine holds an MA Leadership as well as an adjunct professor position at the University of Guelph. Her passion is leadership development. 

Elaine is married to Dale Shantz and is blessed to have two daughters, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Elaine is a keen trekker, most recently trekking in the Andes Mountains of Peru. High Atlas Mountains or Morocco and the El Camino in Spain. She is looking forward to the Bruce Trail adventure. (Learn more about peopleCare's history of support for MEDA and Ghana GROW here.)

Miriam TurnbullMiriam - ProResp Inc.

Miriam Turnbull is a respiratory therapist with an MBA from Wilfred Laurier University; she is a General Manager of ProResp.

Her passion is leadership in respiratory care. She seeks to build a leadership model that prioritizes taking care of oneself while caring for and leading others.

Miriam is blessed with two adopted Chinese daughters, one in grade 8 and the other currently in China on a volunteer initiative.

Miriam is up to the challenge of trekking the Bruce Trail with Elaine and accomplishing the important goals of the undertaking.
