The First-Ever #MEDAPITCH Competition - A platform for startups focused on providing business solutions to poverty - WHO YOU ARE eligibility criteria - An innovative entrepreneur age 30 and under with a poverty-alleviating idea, at any stage of implementation, but provably well-researched.

YOUR IDEA - #MEDAPitch is focused on business plans applicable to the international development context. We recommend business plans that fit one of the following areas: agricultural solutions • environmental sustainability • gender equality • access to technology and finance • business solutions • women’s economic empowerment
THE COMPETITION - YOU - 5 MIN - up to 2,500 in prizes - Part 1: Pitch Presentation - Present your 5-minute pitch* and field questions from a panel of judges. - Part 2: Startup Showcase - Connect with industry professionals post-pitch. Put your business on display in a trade-show style event. Answer follow-up questions and brainstorm in real-time what could take your plan to the next level. During this time, audience members will vote for the People’s Choice Award to receive $500 (CAD). - Part 3: The Awards - At the evening plenary session, judges announce competition prize winner(s).

NEXT STEPS - 01 REGISTER** - MEDA Convention - November 2-5 - The Westin - Bayshore  - Vancouver, B.C - 02 PREPARE YOUR BUSINESS PLAN - Go it alone, or better yet, work in a team of up to five.
